Those same bumps and nubs that cause you to want to hide your feet may very well be your body's way to get your attention it needs!
Our body is designed with great precision and has the ability to repair itself... if we give it the right messages! The foot's reflex areas are actually a record of an individual's overall state of tension that has accumulated through a lifetime of adapting to stresses.
There are times, such as trauma or illness, when the body is no longer able to create balance on its own. An organ experiences dis-ease because it receives the wrong operating instructions from the brain, or none at all. Your Reflexologist, using thumb/finger acupressure touch to specific reflex end points in the feet, can stimulate corresponding muscles and organs, and encourage them to communicate and work together as intended. We can interrupt the misguided messages, releasing endorphins to that zone which is stressed, and prompting the body to behave in a state of homeostasis.
Sometimes, too, a particular body part may be weaker and, therefore, the reflex's memory does not properly let-go of stress. A crystallization of toxins can form creating a constant pressure of stress to the corresponding body system. Something we consider a normal part of aging may have started a minuet pain. Over time, however, because we accept pain as "normal", our bodies take ownership of the distress and, in an effort to protect the weakened cells, overcompensates causing the stronger areas to eventually also become weak.
The body desires perfect health and will seek to be healthy. But part of that process is to make certain it is free of blockages and able to receive the desired input.
